A few ways to memorise things

Here are 5 strategies on how to memorise things

1.
Acronyms, you can use acronyms to remember things by using the first letter of the word. For example if you were remembering cities, C (Chatham Islands) A (Auckland), T (Tauranga) = CAT.

2.
Rhymes, for example, 30 days have September, April June and November... and so on

3.
Repetition, repeating a certain thing or statement over and over can make your brain remember things easily, for example a speech.

4.
Writing it out, if you write out something your brain is actually writing each word or number and memorising it. For example when you have to remember a song.

5.
Songs, some songs are really catchy, therefore helping you remember.

6.
Also a way is creating pictures in your head.

My preferred way is writing it out because my brain is actually focusing on the words being written down.

  1. Good methods, Leka! Which is your preferred method of memorising? One important method you missed out is association. This is where you attach an image to something you need to remember.
