Happy 22nd Birthday Miss McKenzie

Today was Miss McKenzie's birthday. She turned 22!!

Some students in our class were saying that they were having a surprise party, I thought that they wouldn't be able to pull it off without a adult helping but surprisingly they did.

While we were in library the were secretly setting up the party. The down side was that not many people brought food as they didn't believe that these students could just send out emails and have a surprise party. Also one of the so called party planners said if we didn't bring any food we couldn't come!! I only got two lollies and a small piece of cake out of all of the food. Marijke brought in a huge container full of lollies, and as I said I only got two of them. Then I went and talked to my friends, Sian and Christine. After I had finished eating I went back to get some more Lollies and they were all gone. Everywhere I could see people with huge handfuls of chips, lollies and popcorn. Then I saw Miss M cleaning up the mess that she wasn't making! What a disgrace, the party planners should have been dealing with cleaning up. After all it was Miss M's birthday. Sian, Christine and I decided that wasn't fair so we cleaned up everyone's mess.

Overall, it was a short notice party but I was just happy I could spend the day with my fabulous teacher, Miss McKenzie.

Scars Everywhere!!

Over the past week I have been getting hurt alot, and I mean alot!! Here is a list of all of the things that have happened to me:

Sian elbowed me in the face
Sian threw a netball at my face
Sian stood on my toe
Sian whacked me in the face
My brother hit me in the face when he was playing beyblades
My brother hit me in the knee
A chair fell on my knee in class
My kitten scratched me, twice
I got burnt by a motorbike
I tripped over some shoes
My best friend clicked my neck
I skidded and grazed both of my knees

(Sian and her crew of the people who hurt me have done ALOT more but I dont want to be mean)

Science Fair Progress

For my science fair this year my aim is to see if the new anchor milk bottle actually makes a difference to how long the milk stays fresh. Every day I have been checking the milk by doing three freshness tests. If you want a look at my science fair log book CLICK HERE. 

Two Hands

Wednesday 12 June

Today I made a cool picture on sumo paint of two hands that look like they've been painted on with a child's two hands. The detail in the two stamps are incredible and they look as if a child had come along and plastered there hands on the screen.

Try it out for yourself if you want to have a go at this incredible art work. You dont have to do the same thing as me, there are a heap of different choices of art that you can do!

40 Hour Famine- No Technology

Over the weekend I have done the 40 hour famine. My theme was "No Technology". I took alot of hard work and I couldn't bare it so I helped my Dad outside to take my mind off things.

My Dad is making a shed so I helped him by, passing him his tools, asking Mum for things and helping with the heavy lifting. Going hard out for the hungry was really hard. But some people live with no technology everyday so I should really be happy with what i've got.

Rimu Homework Challenges- Fitness

Another Rimu Homework Challenge done. I have run 60 kilometres over a 12 week period. It took ALOT of determination.

The track that i'm running is a track that goes around the whole of my houses front section. One lap of the track is approximately 150 metres. I had to do 40 laps because 1 kilometre is 1000 metres and the challenge is actually 6000 metres if you change the kilometres into metres. So 150 x 40 =6000 metres.  You know what is was worth it, I feel fresh and free and that I have the ability to do it whenever I want to. Here is some photos that my little sister took of me. It was quite funny because she was chasing me to take a picture so she got a little work out too! ( The cute puppy that you see in a couple of the photos is my adorable 7 month old golden labrador, Jazz.

Have you seen a GINORMOUS spider before? Well I have. I was walking outside and my Dad had a big tarp out, he was using it for some job he was doing. He found a HUGE spider, one of the biggest i've ever seen!!

By the way my 6 year old brother says he is going to keep it as his pet. (Dont know how hes going to ask Mum though, if you know what I mean) If you have any names for this creepy crawly please comment, but be sensible!!

Happy Birthday!!!

On the 1st of June it was my little sister, Claires birthday. She turned 9! Some of the presents she got are Lego, Lollies a pencil case and lots more. Happy Birthday Claire, from your big sis.

Over the weekend I have made a delicious caramel slice. It wasn't perfect but it was yum!!!!
