Millions of people all around the world watch Khan Academy.
Khan Academy is a world famous algebra website created by a 37 year old teacher called, Salman Khan. Khan Academy is a non profit site that has 10 minute videos teaching you all kinds of math. Salman thinks that if you have a funny face on screen, kids can't focus very well. So he puts up a black background and uses a drawing pad and records the screen and his voice. Khan studied at Harvard University and worked as Hedge Fund Analyst. He started working as a hedge fund analyst in 2004, and quit in 2009.
Khan Academy started when his 7th grade cousin was having trouble in algebra. Salman agreed to give her some tutoring lessons. He uploaded some of his lessons to youtube and started from there. Khan said random strangers started to watch his videos and asked for him to make more. After quitting his job, Salman was working full time on his new website. After a while into the website, the famous Bill Gates became a fan and donated 15 million dollars towards Khans new website. 2 years ago Salman met Bill and was starstruck.
Khan says he will never put a price tag on Khan Academy and says education should be free.
