Shopping Time!!!

Today my Mum, sister and I went shopping at Manukau Westfield shopping centre. It was really busy and when we had lunch  we couldn't even find a table!! I was really surprised because heaps of the shops had passed on since the last time I had been there. One of the shops I really enjoyed was TokuTokuYa which is a japanese shop. My Mum is from Japan and she said she felt like she was in Japan when she was in there. The things that I bought are some maroon coloured jeans, a pack of animated cards, a key cover, a hot drink and some marshmallows with a caramel slice, (the caramel slice was disgusting!!)Oh, and I also got some sushi!! I cant wait to go back to Westfield's and I really recommend you go there.

The best thing about this shopping centre is that there is a shop for everyone!!

Muddy Thursday!!

What do you do when you see a mud slide? Slide on it of course!! Today my little brother did exactly that!! When I saw him I nearly screamed!! He had mud all over!!! I decided to show my Mum because I knew she would at least gasp. After Leo's half an hour of fun my Dad hosed him down with irrigation water!! It was hilarious!! I wonder if he'll do it again? I know I wont do it ever!!

Here is some grubby and funny pictures of our day...

2013 New Zealand Disability Survey!!

The mail lady drove up my drive. Time to get the mail!!

I opened the lid, inside was a big package for my Mum and 2 envelopes. I held on to the package as I was curious to what was inside.I gave my little brother the envelopes. About 5 minutes later, Leo came  back and was yelling, "Leka Smith, Leka Smith"
"a letter? for me?" I grabbed the envelope my brother was holding out to me. There it was, to the parents of Leka Amy Smith! Oh my gosh, what could be inside, am I in trouble? I ran over to my Mum who was hanging out the washing. "look!, Mum, look" I ripped open the letter. There was a letter inside and some pamphlets, heres some of what the letter said:

Dear Parent or Guardian,

Leka Amy Smith has been selected to be represented in the 2013 New Zealand disability survey. We're collecting information about both disabled and non disabled children in the survey. Between July and October.

Leka Amy Smith is part of a sample of 23,000 people we have randomly selected throughout the country. To select people we used information from the 2013 Census.

I am super excited to be interviewed I love helping NZ and I am stoked that I was chosen along with 23,000 other proud New Zealanders! Its cool because we have just learned about statistics in class, and now I get to participate in a national one!!

Update more soon!

The Wasabi Test

AAAHHHHHH!!! It burns, get it out!!!

Have you ever tried wasabi before? If you haven't you DO NOT want to, it is super spicy!!

For some reason my Dad bought some wasabi peas. He brought them home and my, brother, sister, Dad and I all decided we would eat one pea all at the same time. On the count of three, one, two, three, AHHHHH!

Wasabi peas are tiny, but man they are much more powerful than they look, like they say, never judge a book by its cover.

The next stop for these spicy little creatures, is my Dads work. I wonder how thats going to go down with the boys...

By the way, YAY, this is my 40th post, GO ME!!

Hospital Hour

Today my little brother, Leo had to get a hearing check at Waikato hospital. We spent over an hour there and the whole time I was just waiting.

Heres a rundown of what happened,

Our first task was to find a car park. It took ages, we just kept driving up and up and up. Finally we found a park. Time to go.

We all got out of the car and went to the elevator. We were on the blue floor but we needed to get to the orange floor because that's were Leo's examination was. My parents looked lost, it was quite funny. We finally found where we needed to go. Down a long corridor we went, we looked out all the windows, WOW, we were so high up, it was quite scary.

Next stop, the reception, it was super fancy, TV's everywhere! The lady at the desk gave us a card with the number 280 on it. I had no idea why. The lady told us that every patient gets a number and when the nurse is ready the patients number will come up on all of the screens. In the meantime we had to wait.

Finally, 280 came up on the screen. I stood up and started to walk to the examination room, thats when Mum told me I wasn't allowed. Yep, more waiting. My brother and my Dad went, my Mum, sister and I had to wait.

After about 40 mins my Dad and my brother walked through the examination doors. They were finished. I asked Dad if Leo passed the test. Apparently he has fluid in his ears and thats preventing him from hearing properly. I really dont understand though like if I said "Leo, want a lollie?" He would respond right away!!

Another cool thing was there was two huge diggers outside the hospital, and they had teared down a building!! All of the rubble looked weird but cool at the same time.

As we were walking back down the corridor to go back to the car, I started looking through the windows again, my brother was too. I came to a window that my brother couldn't see over and BANG, right in the face. My brother tried to jump up to see through the window but when he jumped he hit me right in the nose, now my nose is broken. :(

Hopefully my next trip to the hospital doesn't involve me!!

Muffin Time!!

I love baking, it's one of my favourite hobbies.

Today my sister and I made chocolate chip muffins. They turned out perfect!! My family absoulutley loved them. I was really proud and I ate quite a bit. Something I would change for next time is a different range of toppings. The topping I used were, chocolate icing, hundreds & thousands and dinosaur sprinkles (kiddy I know)

Order up...

Bone time!!

Jazz, my labrador puppy. She is so adorable I can think of at least ten things on the spot to describe her, she is so unique.

Today my Mum gave Jazz a huge bone. Jazz has been outside for ages chewing and gnawing at the bone. It is so cute seeing her trying her hardest to bite it. Every so often she'll move and she picks up her bone. Since its so huge it doesn't fit in her mouth, she looks so funny when she carries the bone around. I love my dog Jazz, she has an awesome personality!

My little brother

Brothers, annoying, mean, loud I can think of quite a few things to describe my little brother! Today I was feeling nice and I let my brother play Reading Eggs on my laptop. Reading eggs is an online program that helps with children's reading.

Even though my brother can be annoying I love him anyway he is my only brother and I should be grateful for that.

Painting the trailer

Today we painted my Dads trailer, it was really hard work as it is quite a big trailer but it was fun. The paint we used is designed for metal so if you get it on you theres no way your getting it off, no matter how hard you scrub. I decided to wear my Dads overalls so I would be sure that I wouldn't get any paint on me I did get some paint on my hands though because I was holding a messy paint brush. That wont come off for up to a week!! Normally it would take alot longer but since my Dad put some thinners on my hands it wont take as long. My poor puppy was a mess, she got paint everywhere!! The silly girl. Heres some photos to show you what I mean. Sorry I look quite stupid wearing my Dads overalls, oh well.

Round the bend

I love doing peoples hair, long, short or in between. I was bored today so I did my sisters hair into a fish plait. My sister, Claire is the perfect hair model for me, her hair is exactly the length I like not too long, not to short.

Normally when I do fish plaits the plait goes straight down and forms perfectly into place. But today I don't know what happened and the plait curled around strands of the middle pieces of hair. Here is a photo so you can get a better idea of what I mean...

2nd photo: Our table number, lucky number 357!!!

3rd photo: This sign was in the ground at the front door. It lit up as you can see and next to it was a huge, scary american indian statue!! He gave me a fright as I walked in!!

Quirky Quotes

I love quotes. They are so touching and they truly mean something. So I decided to make quotes some of my own. Every so often I write one on my whiteboard in my room. My family like to read my quotes if they come past my room sometimes. My sister can never make out what they mean. Here are a couple I have done recently. See if you can make out what they mean!!

Remember these are originals, I made them both!
